If you own a laptop and are having trouble with the speed of operation, then there is a great chance your computer needs to have a disk defragmentation task performed. Over the life of a laptop files can become misplaced and even corrupted as they are used or uninstalled. Files that are left unchecked can begin to slow the performance of the laptop.

The disk defragmentation task is a way to help clean up and essentially realign the files in the computer so the computer can perform at its optimal standard.Check out this link here. Disk defragmentation scans each and every selected file to make sure that it is not corrupted or misplaced. If a corrupted file is found then the file is isolated from the rest of the system so it does not interfere with performance. If the laptop has enough corrupted files the computer can slow to the point that a crash can take place.

Once the defragmentation process has been completed the computer will begin to show signs that it is running faster. Files have to be in the correct place of operation so the system runs effectively. Even one file out of place can cause problems for the computer. Disk defragmentation is an important tool that all users should know how to use.

There’s a simple way to get your computer to perform faster”add more memory. It could be that your PC doesn’t have as much memory in it as it can handle. If your computer can take more, you could see quite a noticeable increase by adding it.

It’s easy to check how much memory is installed on a Windows PC. Got to the Start menu and right click on it. After that, right click on Computer. Then, on the pop-up menu, right click on Properties. There you will see how much memory you’re working with.

Check your computer’s specifications and find out how much memory it can take. It may be that you have room for expansion. While you’re checking the specs, find out what type of memory is currently installed in your PC. Simply match it and add more.

You will need to open your PC up to do this, but as stated, it is a simple process. More than likely, you will have memory slots that can be filled yet. If not, you may be able to replace the current memory sticks with higher capacity ones. Windows 32-bit can utilize up to 4 gigabytes of memory and Windows 64-bit can handle more but be sure your motherboard can as well.

The assembly order to follow is: case, power supply, mother board, CPU, cooling kit, ram, expansion cards, drives, power, and cables.

First open the case and install the power supply.

Line up the holes on the bottom of the case with the motherboard. Install the included standoffs as needed. If the mother board came with a rear panel insert install it now. Next slide the motherboard into position. Check to see that the rear panel slots line up. Carefully screw the motherboard down, making sure not to over tighten. Follow the motherboard instructions to connect the front panel connectors, USB ports, audio jacks, et cetera.

Install the CPU. Once the CPU is in place and secured, install the cooling kit, and then carefully install the ram..

If you are adding a graphics card, install it now. Make sure it is fully seated and is secured to the case, repeat for any other expansion cards such as audio or network.

Install your hard drives and optical drives. Connect drive cables, and power to the motherboard and drives. Secure all wires and cables away from moving parts with cable ties, close the case. Plug the system in, attach a monitor, and make sure everything works, load your operating system, and enjoy.

Laptops are such a great alternative to desktops. Since they can be carried around the house, taken with you on a business trip and you can even lie in bed and use one, they offer so much convenience.

The only problem with a laptop is that unlike a desktop, you should keep your laptop plugged in if you’d like to prevent the battery from dying. Though laptop batteries can last up to a few hours, they don’t last forever.

Here are some ways to lengthen the battery life of your laptop:

Keep it plugged in: You can always keep your laptop plugged in if you’re using it. It will keep the battery full the entire time you’re using it and it will make it full the next time you want to use it.

Get a fresh battery: When a battery gets used a lot, it starts to wear it out and the battery doesn’t last as long anymore. When this happens, consider getting a whole new battery.

Use minimal usage: When you’re on your laptop and you’d like to make your battery last, it’s a good idea to use minimal usage and not to open a lot of programs or browsers.

As you can see, there are some ways to lengthen the battery life of your laptop.
